Training

Please be aware we only cater for Adults over 18 at our Training Sessions.

We have a number of Group Leaders with a Welsh Athletics License to lead the groups whilst training.

Tuesday Evenings

Where: Bryn Celynnog Comprehensive School, Beddau. CF38 2AE

When: Be ready to start at 6.45pm

Format: Track speed session. Intervals, tempo etc.

Our Tuesday club sessions are speed work on the track. These sessions are aimed at improving both speed and aerobic ability with the sessions specifically targeting 3k to Half Marathon paces.

The sessions tend to have between 20 minutes and 45 minutes of hard efforts accompanied by recoveries and depending on ability, a specific pace should be targeted to maximise what is achieved during these sessions.

The session may guide you on race equivalent paces that you should aim for during the session, however, those seeking further guidance should speak with committee members who can signpost them to internal club coaches who can give them a more holistic approach to maximising from the club sessions and other areas of their training.

Thursday Evenings

Where: We usually meet In Pontypridd town centre at the Leisure for life Llys Cadwyn 1 Pontypridd CF37 4TH. Occasionally, especially during the summer months, we may meet elsewhere but this will be advertised.
When: Be ready to start at 6.30pm.

Format: Group run 5+ miles. Different terrains dependent on time of year (road, trail) or tempo runs in Ynysangharad park.

Summer field sessions are often run by members of the club

Please note that after a maximum of 6 sessions it is expected that you either join our club or stop attending the sessions no offence is intended.

Before coming along to our sessions  maybe you would like come along to the Pontypridd Park run on a Saturday and meet our club members who often marshal and run at the event.

A number of members arrange to run at other times of the week, for various sessions or the long weekend run.
